Clean Air Task Force (CATF) is a nonprofit organization working to safeguard against the worst impacts of climate change by catalyzing the rapid global development and deployment of low-carbon energy and other climate-protecting technologies. ROLE

CATF’s Clean Energy Infrastructure Deployment Program aims to identify, develop, advance, and implement solutions at the state, regional, and national levels that support build out of clean energy infrastructure at the pace and scale needed to decarbonize the economy. This program focuses on siting, permitting, financing, and building community acceptance for technologies that are deployable and scalable today, including renewable energy technologies and electricity transmission.

The Senior Associate will support a range of activities related to deployment of clean energy generation and electricity transmission infrastructure, including brainstorming and driving forward key research and advocacy efforts on state energy siting policy, infrastructure financing and ownership strategies, energy system planning, and community engagement practices. This role entails coalition building, policy advocacy, project management, report writing, strategic communications, and collaboration across the team and with CATF partners and consultants.

Key Functions and Responsibilities:

  • Lead projects driving clean energy deployment practices and policy, and manage CATF engagement on collaborative efforts with internal and external partners
  • Write white papers, reports, blog posts, and derivative material on clean energy technology, policy, and deployment strategies/best practices
  • Communicate proactively and clearly with a wide range of partners, including CATF programs and teams, partner organizations, academia, and consultants
  • Manage logistics for project-specific events and webinars
  • Support the Clean Energy Infrastructure program in organizing and executing effective meetings internally and externally; assist with scheduling, agenda, and materials preparation, capturing outcomes and next steps
  • Synthesize detailed documents and meeting notes into slide presentations, fact sheets, blogs, talking points, grant reports, and other communications
  • Participate in team meetings and support programmatic work, as needed
  • Track progress against key performance indicators
  • Organize and maintain internal document libraries and other shared resources

Skills/Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s degree required, Master’s preferred
  • Minimum (3) years’ experience in clean energy, environmental, or infrastructure-related research, analysis, project development, or related work
  • Experience in clean energy resource siting, permitting, project development, community engagement, or related subjects a plus
  • Experience in climate or environmental advocacy or policy a plus
  • Proven skills and experience working in a high-functioning team, managing projects with tight deadlines in a collaborative way
  • Self-starter who enjoys taking initiative and helping others
  • Consistent follow-through, highly organized, and committed to high-quality work
  • Strong computer skills, including comfort with the Microsoft Office Suite and Microsoft Teams
  • Excellent written and oral communications and interpersonal skills
  • Detail-oriented proofreader and editor
  • Strong time management skills and attention to detail
  • Flexible and able to work outside of typical office hours to accommodate colleagues in other time zones

Compensation and Location:

This is a full-time, remote position, with location flexible within the United States. CATF offers an excellent benefits package (details available on our careers page) and an annual salary range of $92,950 – $115,000, depending on experience.
